ONE-OF-A-KIND ART PIECE

Robot Name : SpyBot

Robot Series : Droids

All custom art pieces are sculpted using items found at flea markets and antique shops and are not meant to be toys.  As such, you will find patina, scratches, and/or dents in the various materials.  All of these imperfections add to the beauty and character of the final sculpture.

The series of bots that fall under "Droids" have a unique finish to them where color has been applied first.  Several layers of varying black wash and sanding techniques follow with a final layer of matt clear coat protection.  The end result gives each sculpture a look and feel of having spent numerous years aboard a star-class spaceship in a scifi movie.

Interesting Facts

The Icarus ship is a faster than light or FTL vessel with a small crew of five scouts.  Scouts are the first robots to explore and investigate planets, moons, asteroids, comets and gas clouds.  Without fear, they go where no man has gone before.  Heading up this crew is a robot named SpyBot.  Equipped with gadgetry specifically designed for discovery, he is a modern day Christopher Columbus.  Dual camera vision producing crystal clear stereoscopic images allow the new landscapes to be mapped in detail.  The parabolic dish he carries around serves as a portable listening device as well as a communication transmitter for uploading the scanned 3D terrain imagery.
