Another request from a repeat customer (AKA "Ken") came in later in 2020. This time, he was looking for a robot with arms and legs this time as opposed to the part robot/part military aircraft theme like the last build. The challenge this time was for the robot to have a deep sea diver theme and also incorporate a pilot/driver inside. Once again, Ken had given me a few items to work with. The main body which would house the pilot used to be an old brass clock (minus the internal clock workings). This was going to be a challenge to fit a character inside here with all of the "gadgets" a pilot may have to operate because of the smaller size. I was certainly up for the adventure. Other items to be used included a beautiful vintage pair of brass and pearl binoculars for the eyes or periscope, a brass lighter with a ships steering wheel and a deep sea diving insignia pin.

New in the series of Rogue Robot Hunter bots, is the deep sea dweller called Gluperel. Named after a rather bizarre looking deep sea predator called the Gulper Eel, this bot was built to withstand the immense pressure of depths well below 2,000 meters. Gluperel has a thick titanium pressurized sphere where its pilot’s micro biome is kept safe from these crushing pressures as it descends deep into into the oceans of distant planets it scours. Neurally controlled and commanded by the unknown pilot scientist "Zerro", Gluperel is a formidable warrior bot. When it finds its prey, the pilot acts as a neurological transmitter that sends a signal back it’s main base. The ion channels that course through the Gluperel’s mainframe open, causing a sudden and massive difference in the bot’s electric potential. Reversing polarity momentarily to charge its massive harpoon reactor, it generates a current so powerful that it is capable of controlling the central AI of its target. By controlling the electrical impulses of its prey, the Gluperel keeps it from escaping and forces it to move so it can locate its position and strike. The deep sea is no place to hide.
